Youth Magazine Game Creation & Illustrations

Game Animation, Co-Design and Illustration

Task

I had the privilege of contributing to IP1 Magazine, a local publication dedicated to showcasing the talents of young creatives in Ipswich. My versatile role involved illustrating numerous magazine articles and features, as well as designing and animating engaging online games.

One notable project entailed the illustration of a new game aimed at promoting a recently launched section on the website called the ShowOff. This dedicated space allowed local young individuals to showcase their work and gain exposure during the summer period. For the game, I utilised models from a photoshoot conducted for the cover of that issue, incorporating them as characters that players could shoot to score points.

Result

The distinctive style I infused into the magazine seamlessly extended to the website’s graphics, establishing a cohesive visual identity. The ShowOff game became a standout feature on the website, captivating hundreds of players during the summer holidays. The interactive leaderboard fostered healthy competition, with users vying to surpass each other’s scores.

This successful project played a pivotal role in securing my position with Aceville Publications and Phelan Barker. Since then, I’ve assumed a leadership role in illustration for diverse client projects.
